Custom Order Policy

At Set In Stone Jewelry LLC, we specialize in crafting high quality, bespoke jewelry pieces using ethical, lab-grown diamonds and gemstones. Because each custom piece is individually designed and manufactured to your exact specifications, custom orders are subject to the following terms and conditions.

1. The Custom Design Process

  1. Initial Consultation & Quote: We will work with you to refine your design ideas, select your lab-grown stones, and choose your preferred metal type.
  2. CAD Renderings: Once a deposit is received, our design team will create 3D CAD (Computer-Aided Design) renderings or technical drawings of your piece.
  3. Approval: Production will only begin after you explicitly approve the final CAD drawings, stone selections, and specifications in writing.

2. Payment Terms & Deposits

  • Non-Refundable Deposit: A 50% non-refundable deposit is required before we begin CAD design work, source custom lab-grown gemstones, or commence production.
  • Final Balance: The remaining 50% balance plus any applicable shipping fees and taxes must be paid in full prior to shipment.

3. Modifications & Revisions

  • Design Revisions: Up to 2 complimentary CAD revisions are included with your order prior to final approval. Additional structural or aesthetic changes after this may incur design fees.
  • Production Lock: Once CAD drawings are approved and production begins, no further changes can be made to metal type, ring size, or gemstone layout without additional labor and materials fees.

4. Production Timelines & Shipping

  • Turnaround Time: Standard custom jewelry production typically takes 3 to 6 weeks from the date of final CAD approval.
  • Delays: While we strive to meet all estimated timelines, production times are approximate and may vary depending on stone sourcing, design complexity, and seasonal volume.
  • Insured Shipping: All finished pieces are shipped via secure, fully insured carriers and require an adult signature upon delivery.

5. Cancellations, Returns, & Exchanges

  • Non-Refundable: Because custom pieces are uniquely designed for individual clients, all custom orders are final sale and non-refundable.
  • Cancellations: If you cancel your custom order after paying the deposit but before production begins, your deposit remains non-refundable to cover design work and material allocation. Orders cannot be canceled once production has started.

6. Warranty & Quality Assurance

  • Manufacturing Defects: We stand behind the craftsmanship of our work. Every custom piece undergoes rigorous quality control and includes a limited manufacturing warranty covering structural or setting defects.
  • Normal Wear & Tear: Our warranty does not cover damage resulting from everyday wear, accidental impacts, loss of stones due to trauma, unauthorized third-party repairs, or improper handling.
  • Stone Certification: All primary lab-grown diamonds (typically 0.50ct and above) come with official grading certificates from recognized gemological laboratories (e.g., IGI, GIA).
